Welcome

After an extensive and thorough national search, we are very excited to announce the selection of Baltimore-native Matthew D. Gallagher as the next President and Chief Executive Officer of the Goldseker Foundation.  More information about Mr. Gallagher and the selection process can be found in a letter from the Foundation's Chairman, Sheldon Goldseker, and a press release.

Since opening our doors in late 1976, the Goldseker Foundation has set out to become a civic partner with Baltimore area institutions, nonprofit organizations large and small, private and public sector leaders, and our neighbors in the region's communities, especially in Baltimore City.

Over this time, we have sought to develop long-term personal and institutional relationships across these communities in carrying out our core business: attracting, engaging, encouraging, investing in and sustaining good ideas and people, toward a socially and economically healthy future.

We envision a future in which the region is:

  • Economically competitive, especially in those sectors in which it enjoys a comparative advantage

  • Attractive to a wide range of educated, talented people, both native to Baltimore and from around the world

  • Home to a large and growing middle class
